Is anything needed in addition to desire, tuition, and good study skills to be successful as a returning college student?

Yes, a system of support and encouragement.  As much as we enjoy our independence, succeeding in obtaining your degree is an inter dependent activity. The road to earn a degree (especially on a part time basis) can take years.  It is natural to have doubts somewhere along the path.  The world around you is moving on while you pursue your degree.  Family and friends have their own priorities and challenges.  Something that we hear very often from adults returning to college is that they feel that no one around them understands what they are going through.
