What is the difference between
succeeding in college as a recent high school graduate as
opposed to being an adult returning to college?
In two words - life complexity.
When attending college right after high school, our
needs and responsibilities are typically pretty low.
We eat most anything, can sleep most anywhere, and usually are responsible only for our own well-being. Over the ensuing years, responsibilities typically expand to include a career, spouse, children, mortgage, car notes, etc. Keeping up with all your current responsibilities while keeping up with your studies in pursuit of a degree is often much more challenging than anticipated.
